Chapter 3: Striker Vs Brock
After Ash defeated Surge, the crowd was cheering for Ash, and were ecstatic for the next battle.
“Well, I'm next, so I better get ready, see you guys after the battle.” Striker says
“Good luck, we’ll be rooting for you!” Saria tells Striker cheerfully as Striker leaves so that he could get ready for his battle, the heroes were joined by a trainer Striker and Saria met in the Hoenn region, Timothy, who was also competing in the tournament. “Oh hey, long time no see! How have you been?” Saria greets the fellow trainer.
“I've been doing great, been doing a lot of training since our journey in the Hoenn region!” Timothy answers cheerfully. When the trainer see’s Vee nervously looking at him, Timothy tries to assure the Espeon that he wouldn't hurt it, kneeling down to it so that he was eye level with Vee, Timothy then tries to comfort the lavender two tailed cat, talking calmly. “Hey, don't worry, you don't need to be scared of me, I won't hurt you.” the trainer says, reaching out to the Espeon,who then hides behind his trainer.
“Sorry about that, it's not very easy for my partner to trust others” ML100 says, comforting Vee as he spoke, “In fact, he’ll only listen to three trainers; Striker, Saria, and myself.” he adds
“I'm sorry, I don't think we’ve met, my name's Timothy, who are you?” Timothy introduces himself.
“I'm MajoraLink100… or I guess just MajoraLink, and this Espeon next to me is my partner, Vee.” ML100 replies gesturing to Vee.
“I’m Striker’s younger brother, DMMC, or Devon works” DMMC introduces himself when his Kantonian Raichu comes out if his Pokeball
“Hi” Timothy waves his left hand revealing his Mega Ring
“Hmm…” ML100 raises an eyebrow
“What's up? Timothy asks
“Huh? It’s nothing… just thinking”
“Look! Dad is walking out!” Timmy points
“Welcome to match 2 of the preliminary round!” the announcer says, “In the red corner, from right here in the Mushroom Kingdom, he's traveled across the lands, searching far and wide. He's the Pokemon World Champion and savior of the Mushroom Kingdom’s beloved Princess Peach. Welcome to the arena, Striker!” almost everyone in the crowd was cheering and shouting for a great battle from the Macho Moustache
“Letsa go!” Striker jumps
“And in the blue corner, he believes in Rock hard defense, he falls for almost every woman he meets, he works as a Pokemon doctor on his spare time from being the Pewter City Pokemon Gym Leader. From Pewter City in the Kanto Region, welcome, Brock!” the crowd shout with hype, awaiting a great battle, or rematch, between the two trainers
“Hey Brock!” Striker greets, “It's a few years since we last met. Not since the Indigo League Challenge that we disbanded”
“Yeah, it doesn't even feel like it's been that long” Brock replies
“Heh. Win or lose, let's have fun!” Striker holds out his hand looking for a hand shake as the two walk closer to each other
“It'll be great having to battle you again, Tim” Brock says, shaking his opponents hand. The two return to their sides of the field
“A reminder! The matches leading up to the finals and semifinals are 3V3. Choose your Pokemon carefully” the announcer notes
“I choose Sudowudo!” Brock sends his first Pokemon out
“It's Sudowudo!” The announcer says
“I choose you, Lucario!” Striker sends his Pokemon received from Korrina in Kalos out in battle
“Lucario, is sent out. For those who didn't know, Lucario is a Pokemon capable of achieving a forme known as ‘Mega Evolution’ in battle. Will Tim show us this might, or save it for later?” the announcer questions
“Wow, Toadsworth. Pokemon achieving a higher level of power! I've never seen Striker battle before, and if he's a World Champion, we can't expect less from him” Peach says
“Oh yes, dear princess. Master Mario will come out as the victor, I am sure of it” Toadsworth says
“Sudowudo, use Stealth Rock” Brock orders
“Sudowudo begins to set traps around Lucario’s feet! A smart first move from Brock” the announcer says
“Power Up Punch!” Striker orders
“Power Up Punch is a hard hitting attack that also raises your pokemon’s Attack stat as it lands. Good against Pokemon with great defense like Brock’s Rock Pokemon” the announcer informs the crowd as the cheer and shout
“Does Tim have a Pokemon with Rapid Spin?” Timothy asks
“He should have a Blastoise, but I haven't seen it's moveset. Striker says he completes, if not nearly, every Dex before leaving the Region.” Devon says, “So he says”
“Sudowudo, use Mimic” Brock orders
“It appears Sudowudo learned Power Up Punch by Mimicking Lucario’s movements” the announcer says, “Great play by Brock, for Lucario is a fighting and steel type Pokemon.”
“How many types are there in Pokemon, Toadsworth?” Peach asks her attendant
“From books I have read and the study of Professor Frankly, I recall there being 18 types of Pokemon” Toadsworth replies
“Cool”
“Sudowudo, Bulldoze attack” Brock orders
“Sudowudo has lowered Lucario’s speed with a super effective ground shaking attack” the announcer says
“Lucario, Close Combat!” Striker orders and they take out the Rock type
“Sudowudo is taken down by an intense blow!” The announcer says
“Return” Brock retreats his fallen Pokemon, “Crobat, go!” Brock sends his second Pokemon out
“Lucario, switch out, come back” Tim recalls his Pokemon
“Here's a Pokemon switch” the announcer says
“Which will he use now?” Fado wonders
“Charizard!” Tim sends his second Pokemon into battle
“Is this that Charizard that you went with in Kanto?” Brock asks
“Yes, I have two but this is the one that traveled with me in Kanto” Tim answers, “Charizard! MEGA SHINKA!” Striker exclaims as he raises his Mega Bracelet in the air, engulfing his Pokemon in a bright light, his Mega Bracelet connecting streams and allowing Charizard to transform into Mega Charizard X.
“Wow! Charizard Mega Evolved!” a toad says excited as a Koopa beside him looks over
“It's not that cool. Bowser can easily defeat a Charizard” says the Koopa
“Bleck… I think both are powerful, but in this case I'll have to root for my hero, Mario” says a man in a white cape and gentleman's hat. It was Count Bleck (if ya couldn't guess… lol)
“Charizard, use Flamethrower!” Striker gives his command, Charizard firing off a blue stream of flames, but missed it's target
“The attack missed” the announcer says
“Crobat, use Poison Fang!” Brock orders and lands a crit on Charizard, also getting off the second effect, Badly Poisoning the Fire/Dragon type, “Perfect!” Charizard is in the mid yellow zone, the poison adds more damage, now leaving it in the low yellow zone
“Charizard, use Fire Blast!”
“Sludge Bomb, go Crobat!” The two trainers give their commands and the two attacks hit their targets.
“Wow, a double Knockout!” The announcer says
“RETURN!” The trainers retreat their Pokemon. Brock has one Pokemon left while Tim has two remaining
“Steelix! Showtime!” Brock sends his final Pokemon out. Steelix has a band on his head holding a glittering stone
“Hold on… Steelix… You can Mega Evolve now?” Tim asks
“Yep. Steelix, Lets go! MEGA EVOLVE!” Brock removes his shirt and reveals his Mega Necklace. Steelix’s beginning to glow and Brock’s Key Stone connects streams to transform Steelix into Mega Steelix
“Brock Steelix! It's emitting overwhelming energy! Can you feel it in the air folks” asks the announcer
“I choose Turtonator” Tim sends his Alolan Dragon out
“Did he just send out Bowser?” Toadsworth questions
“Turtonator… Show Brock and Steelix the power of our Z-Move!” Tim says as he rolls up his sleeve to show everyone his Z-Ring. “Go now, Turtonator! INFERNO OVERDRIVE!” Striker exclaims, performing the needed pose to achieve activation of the Z-Move. Steelix is hit hard with the Z-Move but survives in the high yellow zone “Gah! It held on?”
“It'll take a lot more to defeat Mega Steelix!” Brock chuckles mid sentence
“I figured it wouldn't be this easy” Tim smirks, “Turtonator, use Dragon Breath!” Tim orders hoping for ParaHax but didn't happen
“Earthquake!” Brock orders and one shots Turtonator
“Wow, it's a one hit wonder!” The announcer says
“Come back!” Striker retreats his fallen Pokemon, “Lucario!” Striker’s Pokemon rejoins the battle, “CLOSE COMBAT!” Striker orders as Lucario rushed forward and hits Steelix multiple times. Steelix still stands… for a few seconds at least until it reverts to it's base forme and falls to the ground
“Steelix is unable to battle, Lucario wins and the victory goes to Striker!” The announcer says
“Way to go Dad!” Lillie says walking up from behind Striker’s biological family and friends, “hi guys!”
“Hey Lillie!” Timmy greets as Lillie runs over to her boyfriend
“GG, Brock” Tim says holding out his hand and shakes Brock’s “That was real close”
“Yeah. Do you mind if me, Ash, and Cilan join you and your bunch again?” Brock requests
“Sure, I didn't think I'd see Cilan anytime soon. I haven't since my families first Gym Battle in Unova”
“I happened to run into him at a Pokemon Center and joined him at the Lake of Rage to calm a Gyarados” Brock says
“Nice” Tim smiles, “We will be sitting by the Red corner entrance”
“K, I will see you soon” Brock and Tim leave to regroup with their comrades
